Welcome to the world of the experimental music group Ex Canix. A mix of psych, kraut, ambient and avant-garde. The philosophy of Ex canix is to explore and balance different dialectical opposites, e.g. the solid vs. fluid; monotone vs. mobile; order vs. chaos; earth vs. space; silence vs. roar; harmony vs. noise; light vs. shade. The band travel from Stone Age to outer space and back as a community. The root is in the rhythm. Lars Hoffsten, of Flowers Must Die fame plays drums & percussion, Tjabbe Anstérus handles all kind of percussion and Boch plays bass on this first outing. The rest of the aural spectrum is covered by Håkke Müller on electronics, keyboard and some bass and Boch on electronics, cello & guitar. All tracks start as improvisations. The best bits we save, add to, cut up, trim, paste, mix and mash. This is the first outing from the group who first got together in early 2015, although the history of playing together in different constellations go back to the mid 1970s. We are experienced! All tracks were recorded at Skylten, Linköping Sweden, between November 2015 and August 2016. All tracks by Ex Canix.
